Black pepper helps curcumin absorb, but even with it, curcumin remains poorly absorbed. Piperine, the compound that gives pepper its bite, slows the body’s breakdown of curcumin, and fats help carry curcumin through digestion. These are real effects. They improve a difficult situation; they don’t solve it.

Why do so many turmeric products contain black pepper?

Because for centuries, pepper and hot oil were the best tools available. Traditional cooks often paired turmeric with both, and many supplements still rely on piperine or an oil carrier to improve uptake.

Is there another way?

Yes: raise curcumin’s own solubility. Published research found that heating curcumin in water increased its solubility roughly twelvefold, from 0.6 to 7.4 µg/mL, without degrading the compound, and follow-up animal research reported improved bioavailability.

How does Golden Tiger do it?

Golden Tiger’s proprietary, patent-pending process builds on that science to deliver Bioactive Curcumin carrier-free: no black pepper, no added oil. The curcumin is made ready for the body on its own.

An honest note

The published science supports the solubility step, and animal research supports improved bioavailability. A human absorption study of the finished drink is the next step, so we don’t quote a human absorption figure we haven’t measured.
